I grew up on the North Shore as the son of an elementary school teacher and a professional engineer who later became a university professor. I’m married to an elementary resource (ESL) teacher, and I have three school-aged children. For five years I have been an active member of the Council of Parent Participation Preschools, including four years as the Chair.

In my non-parenting hours, I have worked as an Engineer for 15 years for Ballard Power Systems (and now the Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperative) to develop zero emission fuel cell vehicles.

Throughout my career – and my personal life – I have gathered extensive experience as a leader and a problem-solver. I bring people together from diverse backgrounds (and sometimes across continents), and focus them on finding solutions.

I’m incredibly proud of my work on zero-emission vehicles, and in my community, and as a father. All of these activities have one goal: to make our communities and our world a better place for us and our families.

So that’s me. And that’s why I believe that I am the right School Trustee for all the parents in North Vancouver who want to keep our schools open, and our kids in them.
