“Mike always works toward a practical solution to issues. He has the great ability to break complex problems down into individually solvable parts. He is very data oriented and completely trustworthy. He wastes little energy on office politics. It was a great pleasure to work with Mike and I highly recommend him.”

"I had the pleasure of working closely with Mike Sexsmith for more than three years when he was the Board Chair and I the Executive Director of the Council of Parent Participation Preschools in BC.

Mike is a calm, confident leader who possesses a keen ability to analyze issues and problems. He is very good at encouraging collaborative processes in groups, and ensures the team stays on track and comes to resolutions in a timely manner.

He never shies away from helping others, and was often called upon to provide his fair and confidential mediation skills.

Mike possesses a wonderful combination of intelligence and strong business skills with an ethical, generous nature. His commitment to his community, education for children, and supports for parents has been demonstrated through his many and tireless volunteer activities both in North Vancouver, and within the province of British Columbia."

- Jean Beale, former Executive Director of the Coucil of Parent Participation Preschools

"Mike has never left school! At least in my mind! He always learning and on the go. So why wouldn't he make a great School Trustee?
I have known Mike since meeting him in High School on the North Shore in the early 1980s. As the "Dean of Congress" I was in charge of all sorts of activities and Mike was one of the people that really helped out. Yes, the 1980s. I still remember the insight and dedication he showed in making our dances and other culturally shaping events top notch. Upon leaving High School, I further called upon Mike to help organize with me more youth orientated activities such as All Ages gigs for the 19 and under set. These were not picnics, but full scale productions, like the one we did with Washington DC's Fugazi at the North Van Rec Centre with over 2000 attendees. 2000 PUNK ROCK kids! Everything went over without a hitch.
No matter what the challenge (or silly task) Mike was up for it. He did it because he loved it. "It" being the challenge. "It" being the Kids . And "It" being fun. Put all those elements together and you'll get Mike Sexsmith's modus operandi.
Thanks for your time. Keep on rawkin in the free world!
